Brice Contessa has been fishing the waters of Martha’s Vineyard since childhood. A lifetime seasonal resident of the Vineyard, Brice began his guiding career in 2001 after earning his USCG captain’s license at the age of 20. A graduate of Hartwick College in Oneonta, New York, Brice moved to the island full time in 2003. Since then Martha's Vineyard Outfitters has grown into one of the premier guide services in the region, putting clients from all over the country and the world on some of the finest saltwater fly fishing coast wide.

Brice’s fishing background extends from the  canyons far off the coast of his native New York to the flats of Biscayne Bay and the Florida Keys and the crystal clear waters of the Sea of Cortez. A dedicated environmentalist, Brice encourages his clients to catch and release and is a member of several different conservation associations and has written and published a variety of articles on the subject and others.
