Martha’s Vineyard Fishing Guide

Captain Brice Contessa

Brice Contessa has been fishing the waters around Martha’s Vineyard since he was a child. A lifetime seasonal resident of the island, Brice began his guiding career in 2001 after earning his USCG captain’s license at the age of 20. A graduate of Hartwick College in Oneonta, New York, Brice moved to the Vineyard full time in 2003. Since then Martha's Vineyard Outfitters has grown into one of the premier guide services in the region, putting clients from all over the country and the world on some of the finest light tackle and fly fishing coast wide.

Brice’s fishing background extends from the  deep water canyons far off the coast of his native New York to the flats of Biscayne Bay, the Florida Keys and Everglades National Park, as well as throughout Mexico and the Bahamas. A dedicated conservation and fisheries management activist, Brice encourages his clients to catch and release and is a member of several different conservation associations and has written and published a variety of articles on the subject among others.
